As you probably know, SACS is embarking on an ambitious project. To build an iconic rugby pavilion flanking the hallowed Memorial A field under the slopes of Devils Peak. Every winter SACS rugby supporters are exposed to the elements as they sit huddled together in the rain watching our senior rugby teams do battle on Memorial A. This situation is unacceptable at a school like SACS that is not only the oldest school in the country but also currently (arguably) the top government school in the country.

So the time has come for us as SACS Old Boys to make a difference. Raising R8 million is not something that will happen without the financial support of Old Boys, parents and other friends of SACS. Thus, the school is asking Old Boys to ‘Take Your Seat’.

Details regarding how and who has donated are at , all deposited funds will be transferred into a segregated account, managed by the schools elected fund manager. Furthermore, all fund transfers and payments will be independently audited.

Given the significant expense of the pavilion, all donations above R20 000 will entitle you to have a name, surname or group name added to the ‘Take Your Seat’ donor board to be placed on the wall in the pavilion.

Your personal or corporate donation will also entitle you to an appropriate donation tax certificate. In other words your R20 000 contribution will only actually cost you R12 000 in real terms. A small price to pay to ensure that our great school doesn’t fall behind our southern suburbs neighbours in terms of infrastructure and development. If this amount is too much in one go, then you may pay it over time or buy a brick at R1000.
